PJ Woodlands’ fiber product, Althin™, is manufactured from small diameter trees, standing dead trees and forest slash using the entire tree - trunk, branches, treetops, bark, needles, berries and leaves, leaving behind no waste in the forest once harvested.
Althin™ leads to a superior extruded composite when combined with HDPE #2 plastic, the same food-grade plastic used to manufacture milk jugs. Althin™ wood fiber acts as a bonding reinforcement rather than filler, unlike other wood plastic composites using wood flour.
Besides using Althin™ to manufacture FiberWood™, Althin™ fiber can be used as animal bedding, bulk wood fiber, playground cover, and erosion control in home and industrial landscaping.
